Marektoy

A Finnish toy importer and wholesaler, Competo is today one of the foremost publishers of Finnish editions of "new" boardgames (eurogames), along with Lautapelit.fi. With boardgamers, Competo/Marektoy is especially known for their long co-operation with KOSMOS; Finnish editions of several popular Kosmos games, such as the 2-player line, were published in Finland under first Marektoy, then Competo.

This article is actually two consecutive publishers rolled into one; Marektoy is the parent company that has a decades-long history of publishing boardgames in Finland and still exists behind the scenes, but in 2008 the boardgame-publishing brand Competo was established, and since then games have been published under this label. Therefore, the article name is actually a bit of a misnomer; Marektoy games published before that date will have no mention of "Competo" anywhere because such a thing did not exist yet.
